FILM REVIEW: "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"
3.5 out of 5
Action-packed fun with a so-so plot.
At times overwrought and overambitious - but hey, when you're playing catch-up with Marvel, you kinda need to cover ground quickly. This is what you get when you cram three-movies-worth of content into one film.
Was it long? Yes.
Was it an endurance test for the senses? Yup (including bladder control).
Was it worth seeing? Without a doubt.
Affleck is perfect as both Batman /and/ Bruce Wayne.
Cavill is still the same Superman from before - just a little more angsty and insecure.
Gadot is amazing in every scene - cannot wait until the WW stand-alone film!
Eisenberg is obnoxious as Lex Luthor - but that was very clearly what they were going for. ( and yes, you'll see him bald before credits roll, don't worry )
Everything was an amazing feast for the eyes - in more ways than one. Did I mention Gal Gadot already? Yowza!
Although they always manage to surprise me with their negativity, I believe the fan boys (of which I am definitely one) won't be /too/ disappointed; some of the scenes were lifted straight from comic panels.
All in all, not /nearly/ as bad as the sycophantic critics would have you believe.
