Dice were tossed. Pawns were moved.
Bets were made. Nightmares were born.
Each had their turn, 'round and 'round the table.
It is a game they'd played many times before, but this particular time, the stakes had never been higher.
You see, this little board game had an expiration date - and it was coming up soon.
Every demon from every far-flung corner of the cosmos wanted a piece of the action before it was too late. It would prove to be a cutthroat affair for the vicious demons; no love was lost between them.
They pushed and pulled.
They clawed and fought.
They endeavored to scoop up each and every soul they could find.
They forged ahead, claiming the mightiest souls that mankind had to offer.
They scraped the bottom of the barrel for the quietest, meekest mortals around.
They found the terrible vices and shameful deeds lurking within each human soul - and they did not hesitate to suck them dry.
It was a dark, dangerous time to be a human.
At the end, the demons were bloated and full - and " Earth" was no more.
How is it, then, that of all the demons there was no winner to be crowned?
How had each of the seven demons lost the game? How did the simple creatures of the blue planet manage to win it all - in spite of their tragic demise?
